RE: Gerry Walsh Halifax HRM Elections 2012 (District 7) Candidate Endorsement.

I have had the opportunity and honor of getting to know Gerry Walsh as a professional and person over the last 5 years. In that time I have always found Gerry to be extremely genuine in his intents and firm in his actions. He understands the unique cultural, economic, and political challenges our region faces at a local and national level. That is why Gerry has a solid plan and list of priorities to help navigate and protect our interest creating the foundation for us to prosper over next four years if elected this October 20th, 2012. The people of our community deserve to be represented by someone with class and dignity who doesn’t just talk about accountability but who embodies it. He has proven and shown himself worthy of the public’s trust.
My family has lived, worked, and served the people of Halifax for over 50 years. Our legacy is one of hard-work, integrity, and sacrifice. I believe that Gerry encompasses these same values. I believe under the watchful guidance and stewardship of Gerry Walsh our community will once again have true accountability and quality representation within City Hall. I am a strong believer in optimism over pessimism, action over words, and hope over fear. This is what Gerry offers to the people of Halifax and the residents of District 7. We have an opportunity and obligation this fall to exercise our democratic right for change. How much more pain, loss, and hurt will our city need to endure before we start making positive wiser decisions of whom we elect into public office. We need change not just for our present but if we are to have a better future.
As a progressive young professional who has been devoted to this community and Atlantic Canadian region for the better part of my life. I realized at a young age it takes great courage to run for elected office; however I believe it takes integrity to serve the people. Integrity is something that needs to be restored in our city and Gerry is ready and willing to serve and work for you. In my personal opinion empowering people and community has been Gerry’s legacy and life’s work thus far; and so it is for these reasons among many others that I happily endorse his candidacy to be the next Halifax Regional Municipal city councilor for District 7 Peninsula South.
