A Scientific Background
The Philosophy of Science over the last 70 decades has unearthed some fascinating information worthy of discussion and further discovery. One side says you can explain everything in the universe with reason and intellect (Quantum Mechanics), the other side says essentially it is impossible to observer reality thus all attempts to understand are frivolous (Quantum Physics). The following documentary below titled Athene’s Theory, goes beyond builds on the history of Einstein and Bohr’s famous debates.
Einstein’s Black & White Reality
When Albert Einstein, went beyond the Newtonian Science and brought his famous Theory of Relativity to
the public it was such a great discovery that he won a Noble Peace Prize. However through his discovery as with everything in the “never ending game of black & white” it opened up a new scientific world that led to the development of today’s modern Quantum Theory. Einstein didn’t like what he found at a quantum level, it unsettled him greatly this quote reveals his thoughts the best and most simply, “I refuse to believe that God rolls dice with the universe…”, an analogy that represents the “Quantum Reality” that essentially dictates that everything is a “random” event.
Bohr’s Comfort with Unknowing
Niels Bohr was a contemporary of Einstein and challenged his theory of rationalization he was considered a leader of The Quantum Revolution, they had a series of great intellectual public debates through the years. Bohr’s famous response to Einsteins quote about God rolling dice was, “Don’t tell God what he can and can’t do…”. Bohr essentially found a huge problem within the attempts to use equations to explain quantum mechanical theory, and thus, set the stage for today’s deep intellectual scientific exploration and thought expressed in the film below.
