The New Year & Psychological Time

Moving Forward While Being Present

I’ve officially started referring to conscious popular calender time as Psychological Time (external time), Eckhart Tolle, is considered a contemporary Spiritual Teacher his book “The Power of Now”  has sold over 5 Million Copies and has been translated in 36 languages, I finished it in 3 days and walked away  feeling many of the things he discussed as legitimate, very repetitive but legitimate non-the less.

Speed and Change of Life.

So since we are externally forced into a box of psychological time in popular culture,  I’ve adopted a personal calendar that makes things easier when referring to dates and times to slow things down a little, within my internal spiritual mind clock. The industrial revolution, ICT revolution, Civil Rights revolution, Energy revolution etc.. have all increased the speed of lives we live, That is why a 21 day cycle helps slow things down. Think about how much life has changed on the outside existential world (1895 vs. 2015), however the “Human” element still remains the same, that is why the ancient  teachings and text of  Plato, Buddah, Jesus, the Prophet Muhammad, etc.. remain timeless.

Are we ever really conscious and present in our actions? Or are we just in a constant “drifting mind-state obsessed with time living in the past or future. ” Napoleon Hill, in his book Outwitting The Devil say’s its the drifting negative energy (mindset) that causes suffering. So it is not crazy to think a lot of the suffering going on in the world is a result of what’s in our heads (ex. Mental Illness) therefore the next revolution in society on this earth has to be one of the human conscious, it makes The Matrix seem even prophetic and ahead of it’s time.

Moving Beyond The 9am – 5pm

Moving beyond the 9am – 5pm (M-F) schedule into 5am – 5pm (W1 + Wk2 – Off) schedule, there is also the 5am – 5pm (W1 + Wk2 – Off- Off) that’s gained popularity and one that I think will become standard moving forward, we realize we don’t have to work 100% of the time, you can easily work 70% or even 50% and be twice as more productive and happy. It is a fusion between shift/hourly work, and I think a way to create order in the chaos.

So for example, January 1st- 26th, 2015 in my personal Psychological Time calendar will simply be First Quarter (1/4) 2015.   It sounds strange but it makes sense and you can be very creative with your life and how you live it. With this approach I’m able to focus on a 21-25 day stretch of  time with complete focus, concentration and presence; the result elevated productivity levels and “time” optimization.  Wow, that is a IBM Buzzword Bingo, worthy statement, haha but true non the less.  It is a great feeling to live in the present, still learning and working at it, but I’m excited to see how this process evolves over, time…
