The NEW “Red Tory” Political Party of Canada ?

After interviewing over one-thousand people in the last 10 months in Ottawa. I can say with strong conviction that I believe a generation of young people are going to unite for a political party in the near future. I am not talking about the NDP either. This generation will realize the power of political change and the party that they will choose just might be the Green Party of Canada. Imagine a new “Red Tory” party of Canada, replacing what used to be called the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada. A party that’s fiscally conservative. A party that is socially liberal. And a party that thinks of social entrepreneurship as a true concept of business.

Imagine a political party that defines business as “the exchange of value. Paul Kent  (Former CEO of Halifax Partnership) once told me that, and I have never forgotten. A party that says yes to social entrepreneurship, open government, and a true embracing of transparency. Apparently I see eye to eye with physician Jill Stein, politician Ralph Nader, and actress Roseann Barr. Maybe there ideas are not that dumbfounded. However just encase I am going to read the Constitution Act of 1982  for inspiration and to remind myself about human dignity. This idea deserves a deep level of thought, time, and patience. I don’t think people should sleep on the Green Party of Canada.

Food for thought, I think the Green Party needs to add red to it’s branding some sort of national identification to the flag is necessary.

  1. I’d like to hear more about your interview project in Ottawa. Let me continue your suggestion:
The Green Party has a chance to develop a “Green Tory” localism, traditional concerning the protection of nature and social virtues and very enthusiastic about social entrepreneurship, open government, and community development. Such a Green Tory approach would build a new economic and capital base that decentralises power, extends wealth and also makes a final break with the logic of unfettered capitalism, because there is a high cost of cheap consumerism and likewise there is a high cost for too much government. Equally, if Green Tories are to take power from the Nanny state and give it to the people, we must develop a full-blooded “new localism” which works to empower communities and builds vibrant local economies that can uphold a civic vision for Canada and its provinces.

  2. Thank you for your feedback! I am going follow up on your question and expand on the research and idea of the modern Canadian “Green Tory”.
